Use the official error reference for the exact message. “Subscription access disabled” is not the same error as “This organization has been disabled,” invalid credentials, or a usage limit.
Check these before changing credentials
- Record the exact messageSave the error text, client version and selected organization. Never publish an API key or session token.
- Confirm the account and organizationCheck that you signed into the intended workspace. A personal subscription does not change a managed workspace policy.
- Ask the administratorConfirm whether subscription sign-in is intended to be disabled and which authentication route is approved.
- Use approved API access if allowedFollow the official authentication documentation. API charges, spend limits and provider permissions remain separate from the subscription.
- Verify with a small taskConfirm the intended billing account and model. If access still fails, use the official error reference or support rather than cycling credentials.
Do not bypass organization policy
If both subscription and API access are restricted, request approval. A third-party router, personal key or different client is not permission to send company data elsewhere. Wuwei is a separate product, not a fix for an administrator policy.
For managed gateways, consult Claude Code gateway documentation. Do not assume that changing a base URL makes every model or authentication method supported.
FAQ
Does an API key always fix this error?
No. It must be an allowed authentication route with valid access and billing. Organization policy still applies.
Is this necessarily an account ban?
No. Subscription sign-in policy and a disabled organization are different errors. Match the exact text to the official reference.
Should I buy another subscription?
First confirm the policy and selected account with your administrator; a purchase may not address the cause.
